This morning there was sunshine. Yesterday was almost too dark and gray to bear.
Because Owen is stubborn and I'm a wimp, the kid went off to school this morning in a lightweight polar fleece instead of his more appropriate winter coat: the coat of the "too puffy" shape. My bad. I decided, after seeing O shiver at the bus stop, to drop his coat off at school for him so that at recess his teacher wouldn't have to consider calling Child Services to report my neglect. This then became a great excuse to swing by The Devil's Coffee Shop for a grande skim latte as well.
When I got to school, I slapped on my Visitor's sticker and walked along the corridors, checking out all the kids' artwork as I went. When I reached Owen's cubby, I stuffed his coat into it (he's right about there not being enough room for it) and listened to hear the teacher's voice. She wasn't yelling "Quiet, Owen" or "Owen, stop fidgeting and focus" as I imagined she would be, so I left.
Now I'm home and ready to do some work. I've just made a fresh bottle of fizzy with our new
seltzer maker, or as Baba calls it, "the bubble maker."
