This past weekend, I adopted a ninja approach to training. I snuck it in. I grabbed it when I could get it. This got me two running opportunities that typically I wouldn't have gone for:
On Saturday we drove to the nearby water park, conveniently located next to a nice running/biking path. Ta Dah! I wore my running gear, checked Tay and O into the water park, and then went back out to run for 30 minutes. When I got back into the locker room to exchange my sweaty gear for swimming gear, I discovered how horribly difficult it is to yank a tight-fitting swim-top down over a sweaty torso. Even more horrible was that an audience of women and their children bore witness. I apologize to everyone who had to see my bum as I rushed to change.
Sunday we had planned to all go biking. Unfortunately, my bike had a flat, so using my ninja warrior mind, I realized that I could get in another run. And so I did. Tay and Owen biked, and I did my best to not get too far behind them. The boys stopped and waited for me at several spots. It was great seeing Owen up ahead, waving to me. He was thrilled because he could pretend that we were racing, and of course, he on his bike won every time.
I weighed myself this weekend and sadly found that I am exactly the same poundage as always. It seems that giving up your daily post-dinner dessert (sometimes cookies, usually ice cream) will not instantly melt away the tummy. But, I figure getting used to going without will benefit my dieting in the long run.
