Dear God, how many missed school days can a parent take? Owen had a (indulgent) four-day weekend, went to school one day, and then was out for snow once more. At this point, I'll be surprised if he can still count to ten. He's loving it, of course. But he has missed some fun things because of the weather: swim lesson, Tae Kwon Do, and his first Sock Hop. I had big hopes for his break-dancing debut but I'll have to bide my time until the springtime Hop.
Winter holidays = fun.
No running = not fun.
Missed school = not fun.
No time alone to edit = not fun.
We're hanging in there till spring.
I've registered for a 10K race in late March so that should dissuade me from gaining the 50 pounds I feel I easily could gain otherwise. February 13 is another day to look forward to; Tay and I have booked a room at the Downtown C'ville Omni as a Valentine's treat. I'm hoping we don't get snowed out for that. I will scream (quietly).
I've been busy with volunteering at county library and at Owen's school library, running when possible, editing when possible, taking Owen to swim lessons, play dates, and Tae Kwon Do.
We have purchased flash cards for Owen. Enough said.
Our cat continues to put on pounds.
